Athos s&rsquo;est retir\u00e9 sur ses terres et consacre son temps \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation de son fils Raoul ; Aramis est devenu g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des j\u00e9suites ; Porthos se languit en attendant l&rsquo;occasion de ferrailler. Seul d&rsquo;Artagnan est rest\u00e9 fidele au roi qui l&rsquo;a fait capitaine des mousquetaires. Le roi va les r\u00e9unir \u00e0 nouveau mais sans le vouloir. Il s&rsquo;est amourach\u00e9 de la fianc\u00e9e de Raoul, le fils d&rsquo;Athos, et pour se d\u00e9barrasser de ce rival, il l&rsquo;envoie au front, le condamnant \u00e0 une mort certaine.
